It’s very challenging to review Pez. The problem is that they’re very similar to each other. I guess one could say that one of the great things about Pez is that they are very consistent with their candy. In my research just about every single flavour of Pez that I’ve tried is on par with the other. There are some flavours that I prefer, but the strength of the flavour and texture of the candy for just about every single flavour is exactly the same (the one exception is the rare mint flavour which is super strong flavoured). These strawberry Pez fit very comfortably within the average Pez flavour and texture profile.
It’s worth also noting that the flavours they choose for Pez is also very simple. There are no durian or mango flavoured Pez. They haven’t released a spicy Pez, or even gummy Pez. The flavours of all of the Pez are really basic western popular flavours. This strawberry is no exception, it’s a common strawberry flavour that I feel like everyone who enjoys candy in the west would recognize. It’s worth noting that no Pez, including these ones, ever taste like the real fruit. Each Pez candy is made up of that very fake flavour that doesn’t taste like the real fruit, but somehow reminds you of the real fruit.
I’m having a hard time defining this flavour of Pez, or any flavour really. Some might call it boring because it really doesn’t cross over any lines. I would actually say that it’s more dependable. You can pretty much rest assured that if someone puts a Pez dispenser in front of you, the flavour that comes out of that machine will be okay. It may not be the best flavour you’ve ever eaten in your life, but it will not offend you either.
