My mind set right now? I'm a little thirsty. I was going to go get a glass of water, but then I read the word "Splash" on the package and I thought maybe my answer isn't in a glass but in a package. If we can’t believe bubble gum wrappers then I just don’t want to live in this world any longer.
In this particular case I'm actually not that far off, you see sugary gum stimulates your mouth to create saliva, thus making your thirst temporarily disappear. The problem is if you're really dehydrated you could be putting yourself at risk. This is OK for me because I have a tap within 10 feet of where I write this, so if an emergency should come up, I'm prepared. However, if you find yourself in a desert and you’re offered a pack of gum with a water themed package or a bottle of water, take the water.
Now that we're done with the science let's get to the review. Of all the flavours of gum I've tasted recently this is one of my favourites; there are several reasons for it too. First of all, it's not some stupid mix of flavours just to be creative, it's strawberry plain and simple (although the name makes a little more complicated). Secondly, I like fake strawberry flavours, or at least I do so far, I'm sure I'll come across one in my lifetime that I hate but this is not it. It's chewy; it's simple and not too bad.
Chew Time: 10 minutes
