If you're a fan of creamy filled chocolates than this treat is one of those chocolates you have to try. The chocolate is perfect, and I don't say that lightly, it melts in your mouth and has the perfect snap. The white powder on the outside really doesn’t do anything except make this treat look good, but I don't consider that a bad thing. The real highlight of this treat however is the texture of the cream in the middle.
It has to be one of the lightest creams I've ever tasted in my entire life. It's almost as if this cream has no weight at all. The flavour of the cream is a bit of a mixed bag though. It is very creamy; however, the "Champagne" flavour is pretty non-existent. At the end you do get a bit of a boozy aftertaste, but the fun bubbles often found in champagne are lost on this chocolate. I wouldn’t complain so much about this lack of champagne if they just called it a white wine truffle, but since they chose to use a sparkling drink as the theme, why not try and show that off. After all a flat champagne is just a white wine.
I'm not really sure how one could add that fizzy element to this chocolate and make it work, maybe pop-rocks?
