Maraschino, maraschino, say it, it's fun, maraschino! While maraschino is a lot of fun to say, I have to admit that it’s not always the chocolate that I gravitate towards. The Cherry Blossom takes one of the classic chocolate treats, a maraschino cherry, and adds all kinds of fun things to it. There’s more than just a cherry, and it’s also much larger than your average maraschino chocolate you find in a fancy box of chocolates. The addition is a bit of cream, nuts, coconut, and a lot more chocolate.

Now ask me if it's a good idea, and I'd have to say no. It's just too much extra stuff added to the maraschino cherry. Simplicity is what's in order, and this treat lacks it entirely. Chocolate and cherry are a great combination and maybe some nuts would be okay. But when you add coconut and what seems like a whole mess of other things it's an overload. The quality of the ingredients seems fairly high, it's just how it all comes together.

I can’t argue that the Cherry Blossom is a truly Canadian classic candy, it’s just not one of my favorites. I’m not sure if you could really fix it either, if you take any of these ingredients away it’s just not a Cherry Blossom anymore.
