I have to be honest. I was not looking forward to eating these treats at all. I picked them up while shopping with a couple of friends, and I thought I would boast about all the "funny things" I'd eat for Candy Critic. This is one of my great problems, I often talk the talk, but walking the walk can be terrifying. I bought these Chomppers, took them home, and then avoided looking at them for weeks. Now there's nothing left in my candy cupboard and I'm face to face with them, and I don't know how it's going to go.

Wow, I can't believe it! They’re not that bad! In fact, they’re really good. First off, I have to say that they don't taste like real fruit at all, not that I was really expecting that. It’s rare for fruity flavoured treats like this to actually taste like real fruit. Their slightly sour sponge-toffee-like centre goes really well with the chocolate texturally. The chocolate isn't the highest quality I've ever eaten, but they seem to be coated in both milk and dark chocolate and that’s a nice touch. This combination really makes a difference with the fruity flavour. I have to admit that the watermelon flavour didn't cut it for me, but the rest are really good.
Who would have thought? I now wonder why I was being such a chicken earlier on.
