Crisp Fun

Happy Snow

This ice cream bar has an interesting slogan. On the back of the package it claims to have “the cool feeling of summer”. I don’t really understand what this means. I assume that the Burmese text is a little more clear and that this is a little lost in translation. I figure they’re trying to explain that this ice cream treat offers the perfect cool down on a hot summer’s day. I’m guessing the translation is just a little off. I will agree though, this ice cream treat does offer a nice cool down on a hot summer’s day.

Even though it does cool you down, there’s nothing really special about what’s on offer here. It’s a simple vanilla ice cream, covered in chocolate and peanuts. I wouldn’t say that it’s perfect, the peanuts could be been a little more present and the ice cream was a little bit freezer burnt, but in general, the simplicity of this ice cream works well enough. I ate mine while walking home from the grocery store on a hot day, and I was cooled down with a fine ice cream treat.

I would say that the highlights include a nice creamy flavour. It wasn’t too rich, but the ice cream was creamy enough. The chocolate coating was also thick enough that my ice cream didn’t melt and drip down my hands immediately. This is important because it was a very hot day out and having the chocolate contain the ice cream is very important in these circumstances. Better yet, the chocolate wasn’t too thick either. When the chocolate is too thick it runs the risk of cracking and either falling apart, or at the very least allowing the ice cream to drip drip out.

I wouldn’t call this ice cream a revelation, but on the hot day today, it provided me with a nice creamy treat that kept my fingers clean, cooled me down, and tasted good enough. I wouldn’t say that you need to find this treat and try it right now, but if you’re stuck outside on warm day in South East Asia, this ice cream will suit your needs to cool you down.
