Sadly, the day has come. Often you see me saying how perfect a candy world it is in Europe, constantly stating they can do no wrong. This is particularly true when it comes to European chocolate, there’s just few places in this continent where they do chocolate wrong. Well European chocolate may have finally done wrong. It's not that this bar is particularly bad, it's just not that great, and it’s no where near the quality of a Fazer or Dairy Milk (its competition).
This Nestlé Crunch Snack has just got too many conflicting textures. Taste wise, it might be OK, but texture wise this bar is just lost. Basically, the bar is a wafer bar, not bad, but then there’s the rice crisps we all know and love from a normal Nestlé Crunch on top. The combination of these two crunchy textures is way too much, and it also adds other problems to this bar. Because of the size of the rice crisps the chocolate on the top part of this bar is really thick, and that just messes with the texture of the rest of this bar.
Add to this all the crumbs that are now in my lap and not in my mouth, and I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. I might excuse this messy texture problem if the chocolate was more than just adequate. Sure, the chocolate is OK, but the strong wafer flavour is just killing the chocolate flavour. Speaking of wafer flavour, this one has got no flavour except plain and that's not working. It’s weird that a wafer can be so flavourless, yet still kill the flavour of the chocolate, it’s as if it’s a flavour vacuum. The crisps although adding havoc to the texture really do nothing for the flavour.
I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with this bar, I don't know what I was expecting from a Nestlé Crunch bar made in Europe, but I was hoping I might get something better than this.
