I've never been a huge Hershey's Kisses fan, I don't hate them in any way, I just feel like they could be better. That's why when I saw these "deluxe" Kisses, I thought maybe there would be an improvement. I've just always felt like the chocolate in Hershey’s Kisses had a strange texture and flavour. I was hoping that the thing that they changed would be the chocolate and that these might better than your average Hershey’s Kisses.
Instantly I can say that they're much better than your standard Hershey's Kiss, but not so amazing that I would spend a huge amount of money on them. The texture is much better with these Deluxe Kisses than the standard Kisses, it probably has a lot to do with the hazelnut pieces. Flavour wise I would compare these to a Ferrero Rocher, but not as intense. A higher intensity of flavour would have made these much better. They could have also used something else, like a cream in the center, to really up the game.
As it stands these are a much improved Hershey's Kisses, but they're still not spectacular. It is however very rare for a variation of a candy or chocolate to outshine the original, so there's that. I can’t say that I was very surprised by the improvement considering how much more expensive these Deluxe Kisses are. In fact, I would have been pretty disappointed if they weren’t better. I’m just wondering, am I the only person that really isn't crazy about the classic Hershey Kisses? Maybe the fact that they made a deluxe version says that I’m not.
