Galaxy Enchanted Eggs

Mars

These are both very unique and very simple at the same time. The simple part is the chocolate and caramel. Don’t get me wrong, being simple doesn’t mean that they’re not good quality. In fact Galaxy chocolate rates as one of the best mass produced chocolate in the world, and these are eggs are full of it. The chocolate is simple milk chocolate, but made exactly as it should be. The little caramel clusters are also great, adding just a little crunch and a hint of toffee/caramel flavour. I guess if I was to complain, I would have liked a little bit more of that caramel flavour and crunch, but since it was taken over by some amazing chocolate I won’t complain too much.

The unique thing about these eggs is the colour, rose gold. I know that in some circles, rose gold is very trendy, I’m not really in those circles, or any circles that find a particular colour trendy. I would describe these eggs as being peculiarly shiny. I don’t really know why they went with a soft shiny coating, likely to make these chocolate eggs look a little fancier. I’m not really a fancy person, so it kind of miss me a little. The fact that the shell is soft is interesting as well, as most coloured shells on candy are hard candy shells. This actually worked in their favour as it made the crunchy caramel bits a little more obvious.

The interesting contrast of this candy is the fact that although they had a shiny rose gold coating, most of the eggs where fairly oddly shaped. I don’t think one of them was a perfect egg, and many had some weird bulges and dents. It made the eggs feel a little more hand made, but I seriously doubt that it’s true. I’m not really sure if the weird, imperfect shapes are on purpose or not but at least it didn’t ruin the fine taste and texture.
