Lemon White Chocolate. Normally these are several things that might freak me out, but since it was a gift from someone I trusted, and since it wasn't North American, I figured it might be okay. On occasion I have friends that give me candy, mostly from places they love or from their travels. I have some friends with whom I accept the candy and eat it at my leisure. I have other friends with whom I instantly photograph and review the candy. It’s not that I don’t appreciate fun treats from anyone, it’s just some people I know have strange as well as great taste in treats. I know anything they’ll give me will be something I’ve never tried before. This mix of lemon and white chocolate is the perfect example, and the person is also one of those people with whom I trust completely.
Needless to say, it was good. The lemon was truly the flavour in power. This is a little odd when you have the texture of chocolate going through your mouth. Orange chocolate is somewhat common, but lemon chocolate is much rarer, and on paper it seems like it shouldn’t work, but it does.
The white chocolate provided more texture than flavour, although it probably smoothed out the sour lemon flavour a little. I think what made this work was the quality of the lemon flavour, it wasn't a fake flavour at all. I'm not 100% sure, but I think this Gusto Limone is made with real lemons. The only fault could be the power of the flavour, although smooth, it is really strong and if fruity chocolate isn’t your thing, you might not like it.
