Mix might not be the best way to describe these gummies. If I was to give these a description, I would call it a “slight confusion” of gummies. Mix implies that there are several different types of gummies in one package. The only thing really different about these gummies is the shape. The flavours are different between each gummy, but they’re all fruity and some of the different shapes did share the same flavours. Texture wise they were pretty much exactly the same, and that’s a little disappointing.
I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve been spending a good deal of my life eating different candies, but I believe that there are many different textures for gummy candies. There’s a the soft jelly gummies, the harder chewy gummies, rubbery gummies and many more texture to enjoy. These were all closer to the rubbery gummy, and while that’s a fine gummy texture I think it would have been really fun if each shape had a unique gummy texture. It would not only be interesting to eat but it would prove to others that there are in fact different gummy textures out there.
Flavour wise I was occasionally pleasantly surprised, but for the most part the flavours were fairly standard. The only flavours you could guess ahead of time were to occasional fruit flavour (like the cherries) and the cola gummies. Every other shape was a little more obscure and the flavours more random. I will say that I bit into one gummy caterpillar (crawly maybe) that had a really wonderful grapefruit flavour. I would have seriously eaten an entire bag of just those.
One of the reasons that the grapefruit worked so well is it seemed to make these gummies taste a little more sour. On that subject, the package as the word “sourrr” on the front. This implies that these might be more sour than usual. Maybe I’m jaded, but I barely found these sour at all. I do understand that I have a very high tolerance for sour treats, but I think these could have used a little more citric acid.
