This is interesting, what we have here is what I would call a conflict of interest that just might work out. What I mean is, this particular treat has some features that I don't like and some that I do, but I can't see why they wouldn't work together. Key lime and chocolate is pretty good in my book, in fact both are in my list of favorite features or flavours in a candy. Coconut on the other hand is one of those elements that I'm just not a big fan of. I'm trying more and more to gain a taste and respect for coconut and I've even found a few things where it works, sort of. It's just when ever I get a coconut treat, I tread lightly because in my mind it's so easy to mess it up.
With this particular snack the coconut really doesn't have much pull in the flavour department, and that’s a good thing. The coconut is really just the texture base for the whole treat, while the lime and chocolate really seem to be the main flavours, with lime being the most dominant of the two. I'm glad because the texture of coconut can be ok, so flavouring it with a nice key lime flavour is a great idea. The chocolate is also a nice creamy and taste asset to this treat and works really well with both the coconut and the key lime.
My teeth just sink nicely into this little square and my taste buds are ok with it too. While I can’t say that I love it, the fact that I like a coconut treat this much is a step forward.
