What this bag of Skittles delivers is not what I was expecting. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I know that what I got was not it. I think what I was expecting was a bag of Skittles that were both sour and sweet. That is what I got, but not in the same way I was expecting. I thought that each flavour would be both sour and sweet. I wasn't sure if each candy would be both sour and sweet or if each flavour came with some that were sour and some that were sweet. What you get instead is a bag of Skittles where some of the flavours are sour and others are sweet.
I'll break it down for you, the orange, strawberry and watermelon Skittles are sweet, not sour at all. The raspberry and cherry are sour, that's it. This is a little disappointing. First of all, if you are going to make some flavours sour and some sweet you should have an even number of flavours, and half should be sweet and half should be sour. Secondly, you should make sure that the sour flavours work with the sourness, and the sweet should work with the sweet. It feels like they just randomly decided what flavours should be what. Cherry kind of makes sense to be sour and strawberry and watermelon make sense on the sweet side. The other two flavours sweet orange and sour raspberry should probably have been flipped, or just changed out entirely.
The flavours themselves work well enough. They're your classic Skittles flavours, a little fake but they work well. The texture is also your classic Skittles texture, fun to chew, but hurts your mouth if you try to eat the whole bag.
I like the idea of where they wanted to go with this bag of Skittles. I think it would have worked much better if they chose better flavours, and made both sour and sweet versions of each flavour. I also would have been happier without the watermelon, but that's only because I don't like watermelon flavoured candies at all.
