Snowman and Tree Gummies

?

I’ll start by saying that these are pretty good gummies. I’m starting with that because I have a problem with these gummies, but I want to start off with the positive before I go off on a bit of a rant. I think the star of the show when it comes to these gummies is the texture. They’re very soft, and just firm enough to give you a nice bit of resistance when you bite into them. The flavour and colour are pretty average when it comes to gummies. Fortunately, each colour does have a slightly different fruity flavour, the red being some kind of cherry flavour, the green with a hint of apple, and white somewhat mysterious. The colours are bright, and even the white looks fairly bright. All in all, they’re fine gummies, but I have one problem and it’s about the choice of flavours.

We can’t get around the fact that these are Christmas (or at the very least winter) themed gummies. So, what I want to know is, why would you flavour winter themed gummies with fruit flavours. The great thing about gummies is that you can pretty much give them any flavour you want. I’m sure someone out there is making a meat flavoured gummy as we speak. So, with such a versatile candy, why would you just stick with average flavours. Why not give these candies winter flavours. You don’t even have to be daring about it, the red could be cinnamon, the white vanilla, maybe the green could be mint. This is just off the top of my head, but I’m sure a research and development team at a candy company could come up with something better than fruit flavoured winter gummies.

It could also be that the company that made these was afraid that people wouldn’t like strange flavoured gummies, but I think you should at least try. It’s not that I was disappointed with these in any way, they tasted absolutely fine, in fact I would say that they’re above average as gummies go. I just wish that candy companies would stretch themselves a little bit, and rather than falling into trends, start trying to create more.
