I don't remember at all where I got this chocolate, was it at a hotel, on a plane, a gift from someone? I don't think I bought it, because I can't see myself buying such a small piece of Swiss chocolate. I found it at the bottom of my candy box, with no memory of how I obtained it. Even though the origins are mysterious, I never turn down Swiss chocolate as it’s some of the best in the world.
As far as Swiss chocolate goes, this isn't the best. The texture of the chocolate is nice, as I would expect from Swiss chocolate, but the rest is pretty substandard for chocolate in that region. The flavour is the first disappointment, it tasted a little fruity, but not very cocoa like. There are some varieties of chocolate that go for the fruitier flavour, but I feel like in this case it’s less intentional. I've had much better Swiss chocolate with a smooth but still cocoa like flavour. The second problem is the hazelnuts, or really the lack of them. I saw a few crumbs at the bottom of the bar, but texture wise and in particular flavour wise these little hazelnut crumbs added nothing.
I generally really like a good piece of Swiss chocolate, and I was expecting the only disappointment to be that the piece was too small. Instead I would say that this small piece of chocolate is enough. I guess I can’t totally complain that much since I don’t even remember where I got this, and I’m assuming that I didn’t pay for it.
