There is one big mistake with this product. The simple fact that they call it licorice is really deceiving, and actually changed the way I was expecting these to taste, as well as the texture I expected. Basically, these treats are fruity little chewy nuggets of fun, I see nothing licorice like at all. They're not as hard as licorice, and they don't taste anything like licorice red or black. The name implies something fairly specific, that isn’t represented in the candy itself.
I guess what I'm saying is had the bag been blank or had something different written on it, I'd probably have a different idea about what I was about to eat. Since I was expecting licorice the name of this candy threw me off a little.
Having said all that, as a treat goes, they're not bad. These “Licorice” pieces are really soft, fruity and they smell pretty good too. They do stick to my teeth a bit more than I would like, but it’s not so bad that I’d knock off a lot of points. I like these candies, and I'll probably not share any of this bag with friends.
Flavour wise the peach seems a little lost while the mango is really predominant, not that I mind. To be honest I'm not sure if I've ever tasted anything with a peach in its name that didn't taste a little like mango anyways. The more I think about this, the more I wonder if the mango and the peach are related. Now it appears this treat has opened a new can of worms for my taste buds, mango vs peach.
