I can honestly say that this is the first time I've ever had an ice cream treat that has attempted to put across the same attitude as a truck. Or at least that's what I think the theme of this treat is, I can't for the life of my figure out what else 4x4 could possibly mean. At first I thought (and was hoping) that the 4x4 had something to do with the level of chocolate that was going to make an appearance in this treat. I've had a chocolate ice cream called "6X" and it had 6 times the cocoa of most chocolate ice creams. The ice cream was so chocolaty it was almost black. This cone on the other hand, as you can see from the photograph is not super dark chocolate.
So maybe it wasn't the amount of cocoa, but instead the number of different types of chocolate used to make this treat. Again, I was disappointed. I tasted chocolate ice cream, and it had a chocolate dip that ran from the top down to the bottom of the cone, but that was it. For the life of me, I can't figure out what the "4x4" is supposed to mean.
So, was it a complete disappointment? No, it was actually a fine ice cream treat. It wasn't close to being one of the best treats I've ever tried, but it was OK. The ice cream was a good quality, the cone was crunchy, and the chocolate dip was tasty. I could have used a little more chocolate dip, particularly in the cone. Some ice cream treats line the inside of their cone with chocolate but this one had random dribbles instead and that’s all. It was fairly inconsistent where you might find the dribbles and that was disappointing.
It was an OK ice cream treat, with a really disappointing name.
