I think I know where these get their name, or at the very least I'm going to make a stupid guess. A stupid guess is the opposite of an educated guess. I assume that my guess is not correct, but it is still a conclusion, albeit slightly illogical. I assume that these get the name "Rambo" from the fact that they're really tough, just like the famous John Rambo, played by Sylvester Stallone. Now you understand why this is a stupid guess.
The guess comes from the fact that these are not a weak candy, in texture at least. The flavour isn't that strong, although it's not very weak either, but it's not the most interesting part of this candy. These Rambo Strawberry basically taste like fake strawberry, and that's fine. The texture is the real unique thing about these candies. The center is fairly soft, or at least it seems soft compared to the almost unbeatable chewy exterior. It took a bit of work to take the first bite, and it wasn't easy on my jaw at all. I managed to eat both of the Rambo Strawberries that I bought, but I was pretty tired afterwards.
It's not that this candy was bad, even though it may not have been fresh, but it was challenging. The flavour was good enough that the challenge was worth it, but I can't imagine eating more than two of these in one sitting. While these seem to be available in bulk, you might want to limit your serving.
