I have to be honest, I was a little doubtful that I would like this cool treat. I picked it up because I was in Pakistan, and you don't often find Pakistani ice cream treats in other parts of the world. It seemed fairly unique, but at no point did I think it would be tasty. It's not because I don't enjoy Pakistani food, it's that you never really associate Pakistan with ice cream. I've also had a few bad experiences with Pakistani packaged sweets in the past, so I assumed that this cool treat might follow suit. It turns out that I was completely wrong.
This cool ice cream treat was actually pretty good. Normally I'm not a big fan of Pistachio flavoured ice cream, but somehow the folks at Wall's made it work. I think it might be that they used real pistachios to flavour this instead of using a synthetic flavouring. The pieces of pistachio on the outside also worked really well. Speaking of the outside, I was surprised at how well the white chocolate worked with the pistachios. I'm normally not a huge fan of white chocolate, but I may have to rethink that when accompanied by pistachios. Something about the smooth flavour of white chocolate really worked well with these subtle flavoured nuts.
The best thing of all was the quality of the ice cream. I bought this treat at a store that has frequent power failures, and shipping in Pakistan can be less than perfect process. However this bar had no signs of being re-frozen, and the ice cream was really smooth with no ice chunks anywhere. This was a great, really surprising treat, it might even convince me to go out and try another frozen Pakistani treat.
