I've always had a problem doing a review of this bar, and it all started when I was a kid. I use to eat these things every once in awhile when I was a kid, they weren't a favourite but if offered I'd go for it. Then when I was 11, I went on a European vacation and this trip involved a stop in Turkey. While in Turkey, I went to a place that sold Turkish Delight. This particular store had been making it for more than 2000 years, that's not a misprint. I tried their Turkish delight and it was awesome, like nothing I'd ever had before.
Then when I went back to North America and whenever I'd see the Big Turk all I could think is that it wouldn't measure up to that amazing soft Turkish Delight from Turkey. Now that you know my story, here's what I thought of the Big Turk bar. It really isn’t that good. It’s more like chocolate covered gummy than Turkish Delight, and the gummy center is not that great either. The gummy center is way too sticky and overly sweet, and it is way out of whack with the chocolate.
I think the Big Turk okay, but I wouldn't go hunting for it. I’d much rather find myself some chocolate covered Turkish Delight any day over this bar.
