Whether or not you eat this chocolate depends greatly on where you are, or how you feel about quokkas. If you’re like me about a month ago, you’d have no idea what a quokka is. Now I know that a quokka is a cute little furry Australian animal that lives in the south west part of the country, particularly on an island called Rottnest. If you want to be happy, look up pictures of them, if you want to be sad, google quokka football. If you’re thinking of buying one of these chocolates, it’s important to know about this animal, or be near the Margaret River Chocolate stores in Western Australia. If neither of these ideas appeal to you, then you might not want to bother.
It’s not that this milk chocolate is bad, in fact I would say that the milk chocolate in this Chokka The Quokka is very good. It melts in your mouth in the perfect way that good quality milk chocolate should. It’s creamy, but it’s also chocolaty enough that the cocoa flavour isn’t lost. The thing is, it’s just milk chocolate, there’s nothing amazingly noteworthy about this chocolate other than to say that it’s very high quality. I’ve certainly had milk chocolate of this quality in other parts of the world, so I’m not sure if it’s worth a trip just to get a chocolate quokka. Having said that, if you’re in the Perth/Margaret River area, I would highly recommend stopping in to one of several Margaret River Chocolate shops. I’d also recommend getting a chocolate quokka.
I think the only other people who might want to pick up one of these chocolate treats are people who love quokkas. I have a feeling there aren’t too many quokka fans, but if you’re reading this and you are, getting one of these is a good idea. After all it’s good chocolate, and a portion of the profits from the sale of each Chokka The Quokka goes to help support the quokka population in Western Australia.
