I’m going to start this review by saying that this is a good bar, and if you like chocolate and hazelnuts, you’ll enjoy eating this bar. The chocolate is a fine quality, smooth and creamy as you would expect from any Dairy Milk bar. Dairy Milk bars, made by Cadbury, are consistently some of the best mass-produced chocolate bars on the market. This bar is no exception. The hazelnuts are also very good. They’re fresh, and the ratio of chocolate to nuts is very good. My only complaint about the hazelnuts would be that it would have been nicer of they were larger pieces. The small pieces of hazelnut found in this bar, don’t have the satisfying texture that larger pieces would offer.
So, it’s safe to say that I was happy eating this bar, but it didn’t excite me. Maybe I’m a bit jaded, or maybe I’m a candy snob, but this bar did not make me say wow at all. I was happy enough to eat it, but I wasn’t blown away. I’ve eaten plain milk chocolate that’s excited me more than this bar, so it’s not the simplicity of this bar that’s made me bored. It’s really something I can’t put my finger on, something that just didn’t make me squeal with delight, even a little bit. I’m guessing it has something to do with the small bits of hazelnut, I wanted more and I just didn’t get it.
As I said in the first paragraph, this is a fine bar. I just can’t say that it’s exciting, revolutionary, or even remarkable. If you find yourself in a store with a chocolate and hazelnut craving, this is a very good choice. If you’re looking for something that will change your life, it might not work for you.
