If you’ve ever wondered how the shape of a snack can affect the texture, these Doritos Roll’d are the perfect example. It appears that these are the exact shape, thickness and ingredients as a regular Dorito chip, with one big difference. These corn chips are rolled into tight little tubes. The difference is that these become much crunchier and much more satisfying to crunch. That’s saying a lot since Doritos are famous for their great crunch already. I should also mention that this isn’t the first time Doritos has attempt a shape like this, however, for some reason they stopped making them after a few months many years ago. Here’s hoping these stick around, because I love them.
The amazing texture wasn’t even the full greatness of these corn chips. The dill pickle flavour was wonderful as well, at least for me. The thing this flavour offers is something I love in a snack or a treat, sour. These have a great tang to them that after a few chips makes your mouth a little puckered. The first bite is fairly powerful, and after a few chips your mouth starts to balance things out a bit. However, after a few more chips you start to feel a little bit of a sour burn. While I’m not a huge fan of spicy foods, a sour kick really gets me in a good place.
The dill is also well placed in these chips. There’s no doubt that they’re pickle flavoured. I’m begging Doritos to keep these Roll’d Doritos around, I not only want to try more flavours in this style I want to eat this specific flavour for a while as well.
