Extreme "Nama Vanilla"

Nestlé

I consider myself fairly well educated when it comes to candy and sweets, but I’m not really sure what “Nama” is. My guess is it’s some kind of advertising campaign that’s either in a different language (I bought this in Thailand) or maybe some kind of slogan that I just didn’t see. The other option is a little more sophisticated, maybe it’s a geographical region or company that produces vanilla. I guess it could also be a process to make the vanilla too, like French vanilla or Dutch cocoa. Either way I’m not really sure why or if I should be excited about this Nama.

Ironically the vanilla wasn’t even the highlight of this ice cream treat, not even close. The real highlight was the dark chocolate coating that surrounds this good enough vanilla ice cream. This chocolate coating was both tasty and had a really great texture. The flavour was a nice dark chocolate with even a very slight bitterness to it. I wouldn’t describe it as totally bitter chocolate, but it was better than most dark chocolate coatings on ice cream treats. Texture wise it was really unique because it was softer, almost chewier than most ice cream coatings. It didn’t shatter apart into bits when I took a bite and it tasted great.

My only question is why do they call it extreme. I would describe this bar as elegant and maybe sophisticated, but not extreme. Maybe the chocolate coating is a little more bitter than most other chocolate coatings, but I would hardly call it extreme. I should also mention that the shape was very pleasing and easy to eat. But again, I wouldn’t call it extreme.
