Fazer "70% Cocoa"

Fazer

I might catch some heat on this review. The world is turning into a dark chocolate lovers world. Not only is every single chocolate company in the world producing a dark chocolate version, but it's also a bad thing to admit that dark chocolate is not your favorite. I can't tell you how many times people have talked to me about dark chocolate as if it was more sophisticated than milk. It's as if milk chocolate is made for kids, and dark chocolate is the mature choice.

This brings me to this treat. This is Fazer chocolate, a brand that makes some very high quality chocolate treats. Most of their chocolate treats are made with milk chocolate. Their chocolate is smooth and creamy, and their combinations are often creative and tasty. So, you would then imagine that if they made a dark chocolate it would be the best of the best, or at the very least the most "adult" chocolate.

Frankly, of all the Fazer chocolates that I've tried, this is my least favorite. It could be that I'm one of the few people that actually enjoys milk chocolate more than dark, but I think it might be more. As compared with other dark chocolates, this one doesn't really hold up either. Sure, it's a little more bitter than their milk chocolate, but it's lacking a full rich flavour that comes with most dark chocolates. It just seems like they made a milk chocolate that was a little bit bitter, and not one with a stronger cocoa flavour.

Don't get me wrong, this chocolate is smooth, and it's still pretty tasty, but it's not nearly as nice as their milk chocolate.
