Everlasting...That is an interesting claim. One assumes that “everlasting” means that this candy is going to last forever. At the very least, you would assume that it’s going to last a very long time. But then you have the problem of defining a very long time. Does a long time mean months, days, hours, minutes? These candies have a name that assumes a lot, like you would know how long “everlasting” is. Off the top of my head I think of the word everlasting alongside words like infinite. When I see a box of Everlasting Gobstoppers I’m thinking that it’s going to last a really long time, maybe forever.
Although obviously that is not true, the Gobstopper is a great candy classic. The Everlasting Gobstopper is like a jaw breaker only smaller and with no gum in the middle. While it doesn’t last forever, it does last a pretty long time. While I’m sure science is working on a candy coating shell that’s super long lasting, I’m glad these didn’t last any longer. First of all, I’d be pretty board of them after an hour or two. Secondly since we live in the present, and there’s no magic coating that lasts a super long time, a real “everlasting” candy would probably be so big that it wouldn’t be comfortable to suck on. These are fortunately very comfortable.
I find that the flavor of these Everlasting Gobstoppers is similar to regular jaw breakers, but a little bit better. The best way to describe the flavour is to say that they’re a little more focused.
