This bag of gummies is literally a mixed bag. There seems to be a trend lately of cactus themed gummy candies. The first time I tried a cactus themed gummy they were actually made with cactus juice. While I can’t read the back of the bag (since it’s in Czech), I’m assuming that none of these gummies are cactus flavoured. Each colour of cactus has a distinct flavour, and some where on the citrus side, but in general I had a hard time figuring out what flavour was what. I didn’t totally mind though because none of the flavour were bad at all.
The interesting thing about these gummies is the wide range of texture you got. There are several shapes of cactus to choose from, three I believe, but two of the shapes were kind of similar so it could be just two. The interesting thing is that one of the shapes was filled with red goo, while the others were not. All of them also had a layer of the marshmallow style of gummy on the bottom. So each bite gave you at least two texture, and some three. The colours and shapes didn’t correspond at all, and that’s a good thing.
You really had no idea of what combination you might be getting, but each combination was pretty good. I will admit that I enjoyed the goo filled cactus a bit more than the regular ones, but not having one every time made the goo filled ones a little more special. Even the texture of the regular gummy was nice and soft, so getting no goo was fine. The sour flavour could have been stronger, but this is coming from a person that loves strong sour treats. I wasn’t disappointed, and I think most people would be happy with this level of sour.
I’m not sure I’ll understand why people want to eat gummy cactus candies, but I also can’t say I’ve ever had a bad cactus themed candy either.
