These might be the best gummies of this very specific variety. On this site I’ve talked several times about the various types and textures of gummies out there. From light jelly gummies to rock hard pastille type gummies. From very transparent gummies to opaque cloudy gummies. To say that there’s only one kind of gummy is like saying there’s only one kind of chocolate. The thing is, few people talk about the different kinds of gummies out there. For most people a gummy is just a gummy and they either like the texture and look or they don’t, but no one has created official descriptions for the various types of gummies. With the exception of maybe myself when I write these reviews.

These particular gummies fall into the category of marshmallow gummies. I give them this name because they’re very similar to marshmallows. In some cases I’ve tasted marshmallow type gummies that are pretty much identical to marshmallows. I might consider putting marshmallows in the gummy category if I think about it too much. While this candy is most certainly in that category of gummy, it leans more towards the gummy texture than the marshmallow texture. These are a lot harder than your average marshmallow and not at all fluffy.

Flavour wise it’s rare for marshmallow gummies to wow me as they’re often flavoured very (often too) subtly. These on the other hand have pretty strong fruit flavours. Since I can’t read Czech, I can’t tell you for sure what each flavour is supposed to be, but I felt a few that were very citrus like. The good thing is that each colour had their own distinct flavour.

Probably the biggest highlight for me however was the sourness. Keep in mind I’m a big fan of sour candies. These are sour, but I would say it’s a fairly subtle sour flavour. I like all sour flavours from intense to tart, so that really worked for me. It’s not often that you find the marshmallow variety of gummies with a sour coating, so it was nice.

While I wouldn’t call these the best gummies I’ve ever eaten, I would say they rank as the best marshmallow style of gummy that I’ve ever had.
