I’m not sure why these gummies worked as well as they did. There’s one factor about these gummy worms that’s obvious, they’re smaller than your average gummy worm. I’d say they’re about half the circumference of a Haribo gummy worm and maybe a centimetre shorter. The basic shape is the same, but the smaller size is very unique. I’m not totally sure if this new sizes improves these a great deal, but it does make them unique.
The other factor about these gummy worms is the flavour. As usual with this kind of treat, I had a hard time identifying what fruity flavour each worm (or even portion of a worm) was supposed to be, but the fruity flavour was bold and really tasty. The flavours weren’t unique, as I’ve tasted other candies (and even gummies) with the same flavours, but these flavours just presented themselves well and hit with a bit of a punch. Each colour combination of worm seemed to have a unique flavour, but I’m not sure if each colour of gummy had a unique flavour, it was hard to tell.
These gummy worms were pretty good, but there was one part that could use some improvement. For me at least, the sour was a little weak. I’m a fan of sour flavours, and I don’t mind when a sweet gummy gives me a bit of a sting at the beginning. These were a little tart, but the sweetness of the gummy takes over pretty quickly.
I don’t know if I could say that this is the better gummy worm (compared to brands like Haribo), but it has a few unique features that make it worth trying. The soft, chewy worms were a pleasure to sample and if I ever come across them again, I’d be happy to pick up a bag.
