Kit Kat "India"

Nestlé

Of all of the milk chocolate Kit Kat bars that I’ve reviewed from all over the world, this one might be the most unique. As you may or may not know, I make it a point to sample “regular” milk chocolate Kit Kat bars from all over the world. Some people ask me why I would do that, as they assume that all milk chocolate Kit Kat bars should be exactly the same. While sometimes they are very similar, sometimes they’re not.

This Kit Kat bar is probably the most outside of the regular version of a milk chocolate Kit Kat bar that I’ve ever tasted. There are so many differences between this and most of the other Kit Kat bars, some happen before you even take the first bite. The package has one giant difference that I wasn’t expecting at all. This Kit Kat bar is double sealed in foil. There’s the regular foil that we see on most Kit Kat bars today, then there’s a second foil to open before reaching the collection of fingers. Speaking of fingers, I think this might be the only Kit Kat bar that comes with 3 fingers. I believe I’ve seen some 2, 4, 5 and 6, but never 3.

The three fingers look pretty similar to regular Kit Kat bars I’ve seen in the past, but the flavour is kind of different. I would describe most Kit Kat bars as chocolate forward with a nice balance of wafers. This bar on the other hand has a much stronger wafer flavour than other Kit Kat bars. I don’t think there’s actually more wafer, but I believe the toasty flavour of the wafer is a bit stronger. It’s almost as if the wafers were baked longer than other Kit Kat bars. It doesn’t make it bad, but it does effect the balance of flavour a little.

Every so often I’m worried that my experiment of tasting milk chocolate Kit Kat bars from other countries is just me being a candy snob, but today I felt a little vindicated. This bar is most certainly different than most other milk chocolate Kit Kat bars that I’ve had before, so it makes me think this little adventure is worth continuing.
