“It looks like candy”, is what Allison told me when I showed her this Kit Kat bar. This might seem like an obvious point, but this bar actually looks more like candy than many of the other strawberry flavoured Kit Kat bars that I’ve reviewed (I’ve reviewed at least 3 of them so far). The reason it looks like candy is because the chocolate coating is bright pink, and there appears to be small rainbow coloured flecks throughout. Amazingly, I think this is the first pink Kit Kat bar I’ve ever had. I believe these bright colours might have something to do with the Candy Crush tie in, but I can’t say for certain.

Flavour wise I might continue with the candy theme as the strawberry flavour is very strong and not very realistic. Some fruity Kit Kat bars have a realistic fruit flavour, but not this one. The flecks of colour don’t seem to add anything to the flavour, but they actually have a bit of crunch. At first I thought that they might be like Pop Rocks (fizzing candy), but it was probably just my imagination. If they do fizz, it’s super subtle. The wafers and texture of the chocolate are pretty on par with most Kit Kat bars. The chocolate was melty enough, but the flavour was strong (and kind of fake) strawberry.

I think this strawberry flavoured Kit Kat was a lot of fun. The bright pink with colourful flecks was some good eye candy (every pun intended), and the flavour was fake but still tasty enough. I certainly wouldn’t call this Kit Kat classy, but not all the bars have to be fancy.
