I may have to make an official statement with this review, the kind of statement that should go down in the record books forever. The statement is this; the best nut to mix with chocolate is officially Hazel nut. The debate is over; I don't think it has to be discussed any more. Take a look at the best thing you could imagine ever putting on toast Nutella. Hazelnut spread, it's perfect in every way. I may just start a global campaign to make Hazelnut the official nut of chocolate lovers everywhere.
This bar is a prime example of why this works. It's loaded with Hazelnuts and it taste great. The cool thing is that when these two flavours meet, chocolate and hazelnut, it creates a new flavour. Many nuts you can still separate the two, but hazelnuts and chocolate just merge. This bar is a great example of that, and that’s likely because of a great balance of ingredients. The other great part about this bar is the quality of the chocolate. I know that I sound like a broken record, but once again the Europeans shine in the chocolate department.
The other thing about this treat that puts a smile on my face has little to nothing to do with the candy itself. Cote d'Or uses and elephant as their logo. I'm an elephant fanatic, I love them as animals, I like pictures of them, and I just think they're neat. So even though a picture of an elephant on the wrapper is not nearly a reason to buy this bar, it's a nice way to add to what is already a great treat.
