Pringles Select "Cinnamon Sweet Potato"

Kellogg's

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this in the past, but for the most part, I'm not a big fan of Pringles chips. I don't like the way they taste or the weird texture. Sure a few of the flavours Pringles uses cover up the parts I don't like pretty well, but by and by I don't like Pringles and I don’t often buy them. That's why I was surprised when I saw these Pringles select things, because it really seemed like they where trying for a whole new direction with their chips. It’s as if they’re stepping out of the can, and branching off into some interesting flavour combinations.

I figured if I'm going to try one of these "select" type Pringles out, I'd go for the strangest of them all. I figured the Sweet Cinnamon Sweet Potato was a unique enough flavour that it would either turn me right off of these Pringles Select, or give me confidence in the future of Pringles. The bag (sorry it's a bad photo) shows what should be pretty big sweet potato chips on it, but when I opened the bag up, I saw that each chip is really only about an inch across at their widest point. These sweet potato chips also a little thicker than I expected relative to their size.

My first bite was a little unnerving, I wasn't sure what to expect. Not that I've never had sweet potato fries or ever sweet potato chips before. It’s also not that I haven't had sweet potatoes with cinnamon before. I just wasn't sure how it would work all together. I'm happy to report that these sweet potato chips pretty much work perfectly. The key is that Pringles didn't add too much or any sugar to them, so they're not super sweet. The cinnamon is definitely the stronger flavour, but the sweet potato works well with it. I'm also a big fan of cinnamon so I'm not complaining.
