I really wanted this to be a great treat, but unfortunately, I didn't look at the package properly and it turned out to be a little disappointing. The package says that it's "Quality Street 4 Pieces", so I assumed that I would get a box of Quality Street containing 4 different varieties of Quality Street chocolates. What I got instead was 4 of the exact same pieces of Quality Street chocolate, the purple wrapped caramel and hazelnut chocolates. Upon further inspection of the box I can see that the purple chocolates are the only ones featured on the box, it's not super obvious, but it's there.
This leaves me with two problems, first of all I love variety, and having just one kind of chocolate is a little disappointing. Secondly, the purple caramel and hazelnut Quality Street chocolates aren't my favourite; I much prefer the long yellow caramel sticks. This isn't to say that this box of chocolates wasn't great; it just could have been so much better with a little variety, including the long yellow caramel stick.
As for the chocolates themselves, they're pretty good. My only complaint has to do with the ratio of caramel, chocolate, and hazelnut. There was plenty of chocolate, and plenty of hazelnut, but there could have been a bit more caramel for my liking. I've had another version of this particular Quality Street chocolate, a giant version (click here to read the review), and it was much better than these.
If you're a fan of the purple Quality Street chocolates, and there's nothing wrong with you if you are, then this will be the perfect treat. If you've never tried Quality Street before, I recommend getting a full box with the full assortment, so you can pick your own favourite.
