How you feel about this bar depends greatly on what you expect. If you’re expecting an elegant bar of chocolate with a sophisticated strawberry flavour, then you’re going to be disappointed. If you’re expecting pink chocolate with a fairly fake strawberry flavour then you’ll be fine. Keep in mind that I often have no problems with fake fruit flavours. I find that some are better than others and this fake strawberry flavour is fine. The bright pink colour is a little shocking, but it prepares you for the fake flavour a little.
There are a few things that I would change about this bar, and most of that is based on the fact that this bar is advertised as a Rice Krispies bar. The first oddity is that this is a strawberry flavoured bar. While I understand that people put strawberries on cereal, it feels like a weird choice for this bar. I could be totally off base, and maybe this is a second Rice Krispies candy bar, and the first one was just white or milk chocolate. I just felt like the strawberry was more of the focus and the Rice Krispies were a secondary ingredient.
This brings me to the second issue I have with this bar, there could be more Rice Krispies. If this is a bar where the focus is chocolate, then the Rice Krispies to chocolate ratio is okay, however, since this is a Rice Krispies bar I think it might be interesting to go a little Rice Krispies heavy. It could be that adding more would have made this bar completely dry and messed up the balance of Rice Krispies to chocolate, but it would have made the theme a little stronger and the treat a little more unique.
This bar is fine, but it’s by no means a great candy bar. It fits the description well enough, but could be better. Your opinion of this bar depends greatly on how tolerant you are of very fake strawberry flavours and how much you like Rice Krispies.
