I’m about four fifths happy with this bag of Skittles. If you want me to break down the math, it’s simple. There are 5 flavours of Skittles in this bag, I believe that one of the flavour is not wild or a berry. It’s also a flavour that I’m not really a huge fan. That’s where I’m taking the full one point off. The reason I say “about” is that there’s another flavour that I’m not sure about when it comes to judging it a berry, however I don’t mind the flavour that much.
I’ll start with the positive. The light blue, pink and red Skittles are great. I don’t actually have the list of flavours in front of me, but I think the pink might be strawberry or raspberry, the blue is blueberry and the red cherry. Sure you might argue that a cherry is not a berry, but I’m not sure everyone would agree. All of these flavours are not out of place in a berry combination, and each tasted great. My only complaint about any of these three flavours is from the cherry that is super strong compared to the rest. After eating just one, all I could taste was cherry for the next 3 or 4 Skittles.
The flavour that I liked, but I’m not sure belongs is the purple one, which I believe is grape. You could argue that if I consider a cherry to be a berry then a grape would be fine too, and I wouldn’t be able to say anything about that. It’s also a tasty grape flavour that worked well with all the other flavours. So I’m not going to take any points off for flavour at all, but theme I’m a little weary.
The flavour that I just don’t get, or don’t like is the green apple. While cherries and grapes can at the very least be argued as good matches with the other berries, apples are in no way berries. I also don’t really like fake apple flavours, and this flavour is exactly the flavour I don’t enjoy. There are hundreds of berries in the world, why would you put an apple Skittle in your Wild Berry collection.
