This is a truly excellent gummy. I don’t know if I’d call it the perfect gummy, but it’s very good. The only thing that’s confusing about these gummies is the shape. The flavour is orange, I would say that it’s closer to a mandarin orange flavour than your standard orange. It’s got a powerful orange flavour that tastes a little fake, but is undoubtedly orange. The sourness is probably the highlight of the flavour, which is good considering the name. At first I couldn’t taste anything sour about these at all, then as I chewed my first gummy the sour flavour started to build. By the time I ate my last gummy the sour flavour was actually pretty powerful, but it never overpowered the orange flavour.
Texture wise I would say that this is in the softer end of gummy candies, but not quite a jelly. I could easily eat quite a few of these before my jaw would start to hurt, but they also had enough density to give them a satisfying chew. It’s exactly what you want in a gummy candy.
The only thing I didn’t really understand is the shape. If I squinted and used my imagination I could maybe see how these look like orange segments, but it’s really stretching it. My first thought when I pulled them out of the package is that they were possibly shaped like pea pods. If that’s the case then I truly don’t understand the theme of this candy at all. Who would want an orange flavoured pod of peas?
While the shape of these gummies is a little confusing, the taste and texture is great. They’re good enough that I hope to find more flavours of gummy made by the folks at KM Wellness to see if they’re as good as these orange ones.
