Tim Tam "Fingers"

Arnott's

For years people have given me grief about what I choose to review on Candy Critic. Many times, people peruse some of the candies on my list of treats and then tell me, "that's not candy!". Chips are often the first snacks sited as a discretion from what should be on my list, but Tim Tams are a common target as well. Most often my reaction to anybody saying that anything on my list is not candy is "well make your own candy review site and leave off anything you like". This is not a science people, and sometimes I consider something candy even if I know for a fact that it's not.

The good thing about these Tim Tam Fingers is they'll allow me to re-review Tim Tams, but as a treat that fits the definition of a candy a little better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to take the other Tim Tams off of my review list, but these Tim Tam fingers will make a nice addition (and maybe please a few of the complainers). I would say that if you're a fan of the regular Tim Tams, you'll likely not be disappointed with these Tim Tam Fingers. The only real difference is the shape, these are long and skinny, instead of the regular stumpy cookie shape. The chocolate filling and cookie are pretty much the same, smooth in the middle and crisp on the outside. The chocolate coating is the same as well, nothing too impressive but OK.

I would say that the one disadvantage these cookies have over regular Tim Tams is the ability to do the Tim Tam Slam (click here to read more about that). If this is the one reason you eat Tim Tams, you might want to stick with the classic cookie.
