The concept of this bar is to imitate a Mars Bar, but instead of using "fake" ingredients, natural ingredients are used. According to the package this bar does not contain chemicals, hydrogenates, preservatives, corn syrup, artificial ingredients, or GMOs. I might argue that any sugar is a preservative (and this does contain sugar) and also that as far as I know few if any candies made by major companies contain GMOs. I do however like the idea of making candy with less chemicals. I guess the best thing I could say about this bar, is to say that it tastes exactly like a regular Mars Bar.
Unfortunately, I can't say this; the bar isn't exactly what I would describe as like Mars Bar. This isn't to say that it's not a good chocolate bar; it just proves that you can't make a copycat bar without all of the "bad stuff". The good thing is that this bar is actually pretty good in its own right. The chocolate flavour is much stronger and richer than I remember from the original Mars Bar. The caramel and nougat weren't the same either; in both of these cases I would say I prefer the original Mars Bar. The nougat in the original Mars Bar is a little fluffier and the caramel is softer.
If Unreal would team up with Mars and make a bar with Unreal's chocolate and Mars' nougat and caramel, I think we would have one of the best bars ever. Don't get me wrong though, I really liked this bar. I also think it's a great idea to try and take some of the “bad” things out of chocolate bars.
