Am I crazy for assuming that a corn flavoured, corn chip should just be a plain corn chip? If you read this package you might assume that… right? Well it’s not a plain tortilla chip at all, it’s flavoured, and it’s corn flavoured. The thing is, it doesn’t just taste like an intense corn chip. Instead this corn chip tastes like corn on the cob or maybe cream corn. It’s really weird because there’s no doubt that it tastes like corn, and that it’s made of corn, but it doesn’t taste like what it’s made of.

It’s also worth noting that it really smells like an intense (maybe a little fake) corn on the cob. In fact, we noticed that it smells more like corn on the cob than corn on the cob does. It’s as if someone created a cartoonishly strong corn smell and covered these chips in them. These corn chips.

I don’t really understand who at Fritos-Lay came up with these chips and why. It’s not that they taste bad or anything, they just don’t make sense. It’s also worth mentioning that much like regular Doritos, when you finish the bag your fingers are covered in flavour powder. In this case it’s extreme corn flavoured powder.

I guess the problem I have with these chips is that they almost taste too corny. It’s as if they overachieved so much that they started to fail a little.
