This popcorn and cookie combination works in just about every way possible. I’m not saying that the world needs more Oreo cookie and popcorn combinations, I’m saying that the way that the people at Snax Sational make their popcorn works perfectly with Oreo cookie bits. The reason this works so well is because instead of using caramel or other sticky sweet coatings, the folks at Snax Sational use a creamy white coating. It’s not really white chocolate, more of a creamy coating.

This creamy coating is literally the perfect accompaniment to the chocolate bits of Oreo cookie. Obviously it’s because this cream is very similar to the cream already found in between Oreo cookies. It’s like a re-imagining of the classic Oreo with the added bonus of popcorn. The Oreo cookie is also a very bold chocolate flavour, so it balances out well against the popcorn. Having said that, you can still taste the popcorn and even the creamy coating. I might even argue that this popcorn is better than the regular Oreos because the cream flavour is a bit stronger and better balanced. I find that at times regular Oreos can be a little too chocolate cookie forward.

The concept of this popcorn works, having popcorn that’s not flavoured, but flavoured with Oreo cookies. They also managed the flavours very well, there’s no doubt at all that this is popcorn and Oreo cookies together. The only fault I found is one that might be impossible to deal with. The bottom of my bag was full of Oreo cookie bits. It seems as though the tasty cream that balances the flavours so well, might not hold onto the cookie pieces as well. I’ll be honest though, it wasn’t that much of a hardship eating a few mouth fulls of cookie bits after finishing my popcorn.

This concept of blending cookies and popcorn together makes sense, but it’s important that there’s a good balance and that the flavours make sense. This is the perfect example of that working well. I’ve tasted a few other flavours that Snax Sational have made, but this one is the best hands down.
