Considering I’ve reviewed thousands of different candies from all over the world, when I say that a candy is a little odd, I think it says something. I can’t really tell you how you’re supposed to enjoy this candy, all I can do is describe it and tell you how I ate it. Basically you have a package filled with several plastic (inedible) tubes filled with a fruit flavoured paste. The tubes are very small and skinny and getting the paste out requires a little work. The two ways I was able to get the paste out was to either bite down on the middle of the straw and pull the tube out of my mouth with my teeth clenched. Or I could pinch the middle of the tube and squeeze the paste out of the straw.

This is basically an interesting delivery method for getting some fruity flavoured paste. That’s not really an appetizing way to describe it though. The paste is actually pretty tasty. It’s fruity and has a slight sour aftertaste. The package apparently (according to Google translate) claims that each colour has a distinct fruit flavour, but I had a hard time telling them apart. There might have been a very subtle difference, but after eating a few they all seemed to blend together.

I will admit that this is an original candy idea, but I’m not sure how “fun” it actually is. At first it was okay trying to figure these out, but after eating a few I found the idea of squeezing the paste out of the straws to become a little tiresome. By about my 10th straw my jaw was a little sore and I was just getting annoyed with the entire process. The good thing is that these most often come in smaller packages, maybe 20 or 30 straws in total. I feel like any more than that and you’d probably be really annoyed with this candy.

This is a creative candy, and it’s well worth trying if you see it, just don’t buy too many of them.
